History of Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week is an annual alcohol, tobacco, and drug prevention campaign in the United States that takes place in October. It is a national drug awareness program that began in 1985 to honor fallen DEA special agent Enrique "Kiki" Camarena. During this week, people wear red ribbons and participate in awareness events to promote living a drug-free lifestyle.
